An empty status means the card is not activated or not enabled, and GiftVeri does not send the balance query. A non-empty status means the card already holds data, so GiftVeri continues the balance query and returns the balance and other details the brand sends. The check is read-only and does not affect later reloading of the card.

Scope
For US Nordstrom gift cards you own or are authorized to use. The current development build accepts a 16-digit numeric card number and a 1–22 digit numeric access code, and shows only explicit USD amounts. The access code length comes from development records and does not mean every card uses the same length. Nordstrom Notes, credit cards, other regions and other card types should not be assumed to be supported; the workflow does not redeem, reload or add cards to a wallet.

The site fields in the development records are Gift Card number and Access number or code. Confirm Nordstrom’s usage conditions first
Nordstrom’s terms prohibit using robots, scripts or other automated means to check balances or collect data without express authorization. Confirm the US scope and development environment
The existing workflow uses Microsoft Edge on the same PC and the selected connection profile, through the US single-card entry. Where a card can be spent is not the same as what the client covers; if conditions are not met, use Nordstrom’s official channels.

Confirm a US Nordstrom gift card, lawful ownership and Nordstrom’s usage restrictions. This workflow is still pending live-card verification and does not mean the integration is permitted or can obtain balances reliably.
Check the Nordstrom single-card entry
The development build requires a 16-digit numeric card number and the card’s numeric access code, 1–22 digits long. If the access code is missing or the length does not match, stop and verify; do not guess, pad or keep trying different codes.
Recognize the correct official balance page
The development workflow opens a separate temporary Edge session; confirm Nordstrom’s US balance page with card number and access code fields. Gift card purchase, checkout or other regional pages are not the entry for this check.
Control this check and verification yourself
The existing development workflow waits for you to click Check Balance and handle site verification yourself. It does not click, resubmit or switch routes automatically; manual operation does not change Nordstrom’s restrictions on automated integrations.
Check the amount and currency
Only a USD amount explicitly returned in this run is accepted. A missing currency, non-USD values, unknown responses or access failures cannot be treated as a dollar balance, and are never shown as zero or as an invalid card.
Finish and clear this entry
After completing, cancelling or closing, the card entry and temporary session are cleared. Cancelling cannot recall a request already sent; if the result is unclear, check the message before resubmitting. The card number and access code are never exported.
This page covers a standalone single-card workflow. Account permissions and brand capabilities are verified separately; a paid plan does not add batch checks for this brand.
Reading the result
Amounts held by orders not yet shipped
Nordstrom says funds authorized for orders that have not shipped may not be visible in a balance check. Check your order status first, rather than concluding the balance was misread or funds are missing.Official sources: Nordstrom official gift card information and terms
Unknown results and currency mismatches
Network errors, access verification, rate limits, a missing currency or an unknown amount are unconfirmed results. The development build does not convert them to USD or record them as a zero balance.
Keep the card for later checks

A sealed $400 Nordstrom gift card, used online three days later
Nordstrom pointed to Kroger, and Kroger pointed back to Nordstrom. Support could see an online purchase on the third day and would not give the shipping address. Who can see the spend location is on the page about stores and brands blaming each other. What stays here is this Nordstrom gift card: still sealed, used online three days later.
GiftVeri shows the balance, a failure, and an unknown result separately. A $0 result counts only when this run returned that amount. If this gift card may not be activated yet, every brand uses the same pre-activation check: an empty pre-query status means the card is not activated or not enabled, and GiftVeri does not send the balance query.
FAQ
Does the access code have to be as long as other brands’ PINs?
No, and do not copy other formats. The current Nordstrom build accepts a 1–22 digit numeric access code, based on the range of the earlier form; this does not mean every card has the same length. Use the original card or e-gift card details and never change digits to pass input checks.
Can I enter Nordstrom Notes or a Nordstrom credit card?

The card works at Nordstrom Rack. Does the client support all of that too?

Why is the balance lower than expected when my recent order has not shipped?

There is no access code. Can I try with just the card number?
Not with the current workflow. The development build requires the full card number and access code; if one is missing, check with Nordstrom’s help rather than trying a blank or guessed code or probing the balance at checkout.
If I click the check myself, does that grant official integration permission?

Is a balance guaranteed without sign-in or CAPTCHA?
No. The earlier empty form was open to guests, but current site verification, session acceptance and real amounts are pending live-card verification. Unknown responses, currency mismatches and access denied are not a zero-balance conclusion.
Can I put cards in the Apple batch queue or export access codes?
No. Nordstrom is a standalone single-card development workflow with no batch promise, and the full card number and access code are never exported. Plan permissions do not add unimplemented or unverified brand capabilities.

US Nordstrom single-card entry, a separate official-site session and result reading are integrated in the development build and have passed offline integration testing; no live-card balance comparison against Nordstrom’s site has been obtained yet.
