Check it in GiftVeri
For one Vanilla gift card, use GiftVeri FREE: choose the United States and this brand, then enter your 16-digit card number, expiry (month / year) and 3-digit security code. The balance stays on the card, so you can still spend it in store or online.
When there are many to check, or you need to pause or keep a spreadsheet, PRO add batch import, stop and resume, and CSV export. Several Apple gift cards from one region go in the same task list. A run with no amount stays failed or unknown, and GiftVeri keeps it that way instead of writing $0. When a batch shows a balance on some gift cards and not activated on others, use PRO’s pre-activation check. On a gift card check for any supported brand, GiftVeri sends a pre-query to that brand official API and reads whether the card status in the response bytes is empty. An empty status means the card is not activated or not enabled, and GiftVeri does not send the balance query. A non-empty status means the card already holds data, so GiftVeri continues the balance query and returns the balance and other details the brand sends. The check is read-only and does not affect later reloading of the card.

Scope
Only for activated US Vanilla Gift Visa cards that you own or are authorized to use. Cards that are not activated, or whose activation status is unclear, are outside this development workflow; other issuers, regions and card types should not be assumed to be supported.
Before you start
Confirm activation and card type first
Use your existing purchase and activation records to confirm the prerequisite; do not submit the card to probe whether it is activated. Vanilla points physical-card activation and balance checks to the same site, so this workflow makes no promise that inactive cards are unaffected.Official sources: Vanilla official FAQ and cardholder help · Vanilla official Visa gift card information
Prepare the fields for local entry
The development build needs the card number, expiry month and year, and the three-digit security code. Do not send these to this website, a chat or a screenshot; this website only provides instructions and has no card entry form.Official sources: Vanilla official FAQ and cardholder help
Check the build, browser and connection settings
You need a development build with the Vanilla single-card entry and Microsoft Edge on the same PC. The built-in proxy is used by default; if it is missing or fails, check the settings first. The client does not switch routes automatically. This page is not a release download note.
Development build workflow
Open the Vanilla single-card page and confirm scope
Confirm that your build actually has a Vanilla entry, that the card is an activated US Vanilla Gift Visa, and that you own it or are authorized. If anything is unclear, stop; do not tick the confirmations to probe the card.
Enter this card and confirm the prerequisites
Fill in the 16-digit card number, two-digit month, two-digit year and three-digit security code, confirm activation and authorization, then use “Verify and check balance”. The entry is not added to the Apple batch queue.
Wait for the separate official-site window
The development build opens a separate temporary Edge session using the selected connection profile. If it opens the wrong site, an error page or an unrecognized form, stop this run.
Complete the site’s verification yourself
After checking the official page, click Continue yourself and complete any verification the site asks for. The client does not solve CAPTCHAs and does not resubmit authentication automatically.
Wait for this result and check the amount
Return to the client and read this run’s status and any USD amount explicitly returned. An opened page, completed authentication or a finished wait is not a balance result; after a failure, do not treat the previous amount as this result.
Clean up, then decide the next step
After completing, cancelling or closing, the entry and temporary session are cleared. Cancelling cannot recall a request already sent; if the result is unclear, keep the status and do not retry automatically. The next card needs its own session.
This page covers a standalone single-card workflow. Account permissions and brand capabilities are verified separately; a paid plan does not add batch checks for this brand.
Reading the result
Only an explicit amount is a balance
Only a USD amount actually returned and recognized in this run counts as a balance; a zero amount alone does not tell you how the card was used. There is no live-card amount comparison yet.
Access restrictions and unknown responses
Access verification, connection failures, timeouts or unknown responses do not mean a zero balance, an inactive card or an invalid card. Check which stage failed and avoid repeated submissions.
Single card only, no batch promise
This page documents a standalone single-card development workflow and does not include Apple batch tasks. Plan permissions do not turn unimplemented or unverified brand capabilities into available features.
A pending authorization is not $0
The airline said the ticket was not issued, while $489 stayed pending on the card for three weeks. A taxi-class merchant can keep an authorization pending longer. A pending authorization is not an empty pre-query status and it is not $0. When the client does not receive an explicit amount, the result stays unknown.
GiftVeri shows the balance, a failure, and an unknown result separately. A $0 result counts only when this run returned that amount. If this gift card may not be activated yet, every brand uses the same pre-activation check: an empty pre-query status means the card is not activated or not enabled, and GiftVeri does not send the balance query.
FAQ
Can I try a check if the card is not activated, or I am not sure?
Not with this workflow. The Vanilla single-card workflow requires an activated card and is not used to detect activation status. Vanilla uses the same site for activation and balance checks, so a button labelled “check” is no guarantee that an inactive card is unaffected.Official sources: Vanilla official FAQ and cardholder help
Do Vanilla e-gift cards also need to be activated here?
This workflow does not activate cards. Vanilla states that its Visa e-gift cards are activated at purchase; you still need to confirm that your exact product, purchase details and region match this page’s scope.Official sources: Vanilla official Visa gift card information
Can I use this for other Visa gift cards or cards from outside the US?
Do not assume so. The current development scope covers only activated US Vanilla Gift Visa cards; other brands, issuers and regions need to be verified separately.
The browser opened successfully. Does that mean the balance feature is verified?
No. The existing records cover development integration and local simulated testing; real card authentication, official-site verification and real amount reads are still pending.
Will the client complete the site’s verification automatically?
No. Continue and any site verification are done by you in the official window. If verification cannot be completed, stop; do not loop submissions or switch routes to retry.
Can I resubmit the same card right after cancelling?
First check whether the request was already sent. Cancelling only stops later stages and cannot recall an in-flight request; when the result is unclear, do not resubmit immediately.
Can I add Vanilla cards to the Apple batch list?
No. The two card types use different fields and sessions, and Vanilla is currently a standalone single-card workflow. PRO permissions do not add Vanilla batch checks.
Who do I contact if the card is lost, behaves unexpectedly or I need help?
Use the customer service channel on the back of the card or Vanilla’s official help page. Do not send the full card number, security code, expiry date or site session details to this website, a chat or a public screenshot.Official sources: Vanilla official FAQ and cardholder help
The airline did not issue the ticket, and $489 is still pending. Is that $0?
No. The money is sitting in a pending authorization, and the airline said it did not receive the payment. Pending is not an empty status and it is not $0. When there is no explicit amount, the result stays unknown.

Verification and release status
Scope, development-build single-card workflow, result interpretation and official help for activated US Vanilla Gift Visa cards. Live-card verification is still pending.
The single-card workflow for activated US Vanilla Gift Visa cards is integrated in the development build and has passed local simulated integration testing; no real card balance has been verified yet.
Live-card verification pending: real card authentication, official-site verification, comparison of site and client amounts, and repeated reads are all unverified. Local simulation results and startup checks cannot stand in for a real balance.
