Check it in GiftVeri
For one Starbucks gift card, use GiftVeri FREE: choose the United States and this brand, then enter your 16-digit card number and 8-digit security code. The balance stays on the card, so you can still spend it in store or online.
When there are many to check, or you need to pause or keep a spreadsheet, PRO add batch import, stop and resume, and CSV export. Several Apple gift cards from one region go in the same task list. A run with no amount stays failed or unknown, and GiftVeri keeps it that way instead of writing $0. When a batch shows a balance on some gift cards and not activated on others, use PRO’s pre-activation check. On a gift card check for any supported brand, GiftVeri sends a pre-query to that brand official API and reads whether the card status in the response bytes is empty. An empty status means the card is not activated or not enabled, and GiftVeri does not send the balance query. A non-empty status means the card already holds data, so GiftVeri continues the balance query and returns the balance and other details the brand sends. The check is read-only and does not affect later reloading of the card.

Scope
For US Starbucks Cards you own or are authorized to use. The current development guest workflow needs a 16-digit card number and 8-digit security code, and checks for the US page and USD; other regions or field formats need separate confirmation. It does not check Rewards Stars or benefits, and does not register, link, reload, auto-reload, transfer balances or make purchases.
Before you start
Confirm a US card and the guest fields
Check the card’s region and the 16-digit card number and 8-digit security code the development build expects. Starbucks says the security code is on the back of physical cards and is needed to view the balance of an unregistered card; do not use your Rewards password as the security code.Official sources: Starbucks US official card management and FAQ
Separate the card balance from account actions
Checking a balance, registering a card, reloading and auto-reload are different actions. This page only covers the standalone single-card balance workflow and does not require you to register, reload or link the card first.Official sources: Starbucks US official card management and FAQ · Starbucks official card terms and help
Check the development build and connection settings
Use a development build with the Starbucks single-card entry and Microsoft Edge on the same PC. The selected built-in proxy is used by default; stop if the profile is missing or the connection fails, rather than switching to another route automatically.
Development build workflow
Choose Starbucks and confirm the US scope
Open the matching single-card page and check the card brand and region. This page describes the development guest check, not Rewards account, Stars or auto-reload management.
Check the card number, security code and connection profile
Enter the 16-digit card number and 8-digit security code and check the connection settings for this run. If the security code is missing or the format does not match, do not continue and do not substitute another brand’s PIN.
Open the separate official card page
The development workflow starts a temporary Edge session, and you open the site’s Check balance form. Confirm the US region first; if it redirects to another region or the page is unrecognizable, stop rather than guessing the region from an old session.
Submit one balance check yourself
After checking the official form, click to check yourself and handle any verification the site asks for. Do not choose register, reload, Auto Reload or save card; the development workflow does not resubmit automatically.
Check this run’s USD balance and message
Read this run’s brand, region, amount and status in the client. A visible page or a finished task does not mean a balance was obtained; an unknown amount stays unknown, and an access failure is never shown as zero.
Finish and handle unconfirmed results
When finished, the entry and temporary session are cleared and the security code is not stored. Cancelling cannot recall a request already sent; if the result is unclear, check this run’s status before resubmitting.
This page covers a standalone single-card workflow. Account permissions and brand capabilities are verified separately; a paid plan does not add batch checks for this brand.
Reading the result
A balance is not a Rewards benefit
This page only covers the USD amount returned for the card in this run; it does not read Stars, rewards or account benefits. Even a zero amount does not show how the card was used.
Access status is not card status
Access denied, rate limiting, connection errors, region mismatches or unknown responses do not mean an invalid card or a zero balance. If Starbucks changes its requirements, stop and re-verify the workflow.
Keep records and use official channels
If you question a balance, check it through Starbucks’ official card page, your receipt or official help. Local simulation records cannot prove a real card balance.Official sources: Starbucks official card terms and help
Confirming a card before you scratch it
If you will not scratch the film, the receipt shows the amount and the last digits, and the store can check it. Scratching the film is what a web check needs. An unscratched film is not an inactive card. A digital card that asks for a PIN is a different card: the code in the email and the security code on the back of a physical card are not the same field.
Walmart scanned only the outer package
On a variable-amount $40 card, the register scanned only the outer package, and the clerk said a second scan was not needed. Payment was described as completing activation. If the Starbucks page still has no amount, wait. If it is still empty after a day, take the receipt back. An outer package that was scanned is not a number already showing on the balance page.
GiftVeri shows the balance, a failure, and an unknown result separately. A $0 result counts only when this run returned that amount. If this gift card may not be activated yet, every brand uses the same pre-activation check: an empty pre-query status means the card is not activated or not enabled, and GiftVeri does not send the balance query.
FAQ
Can I use this development workflow without a security code?
Not with the current guest workflow. Starbucks says registered cards can show their balance in your Rewards account or app, while new or unregistered cards still need the security code. This workflow does not register cards for you or use an account sign-in to bypass the field requirement.Official sources: Starbucks US official card management and FAQ
Where is the security code, and is it the same as my account password?
Starbucks says the security code is on the back of physical cards. It is a different field from your account password; the development build expects an 8-digit security code. If you cannot confirm it, check Starbucks’ official help rather than guessing or padding digits.Official sources: Starbucks US official card management and FAQ
Do I need to register, reload or turn on Auto Reload before checking?
This workflow does not require any of these. Balance checks, account management and reloading are separate on the site; do not reload, link or enable auto-reload just to check a balance.Official sources: Starbucks US official card management and FAQ
Can the US page check Canadian or other regional cards?
Do not assume so. The current development records cover only the US page and USD results; other regions, currencies or page formats need separate verification.
Will it show my Starbucks Rewards Stars or rewards?
No. This development workflow only reads a single card’s balance and does not manage Rewards accounts, Stars, rewards or benefits.
Does an error or unknown amount mean the card is used up?
No. Unknown responses, rate limits, access denied and business errors are not a zero balance; only a clearly recognized amount from this run counts as a balance read.
Can I run batch checks or reuse the previous card’s session?
This page does not promise batch checks. Each single-card run uses its own temporary session that is cleared afterwards; do not put cards into the Apple queue or apply one card’s result to another.
What if the card is lost, the balance is disputed or I need help?
Use the help channels in Starbucks’ official card terms. Keep your own receipts and records, and do not send the full card number, security code, account password or session details to this website or a public chat.Official sources: Starbucks official card terms and help
How do I confirm a Starbucks card has money without scratching it?
Read the amount and the last digits on the receipt, or have the store check it. An unscratched film only means the coating is still there. It does not mean the card is inactive.
Walmart scanned only the outer package. Why is there still no amount on the Starbucks page?
An outer package that was scanned is not a number already showing on the balance page. If the page still has no amount, wait. If it is still empty after a day, take the receipt back.

Verification and release status
Development-build single-card scope, guest balance workflow, security code questions and official resources for US Starbucks Cards. Development integration is done; live-card verification is pending.
The US Starbucks single-card desktop entry, separate official-site session and balance reading module are integrated in the development build and have passed local simulated testing; no card has been submitted to the site to obtain a real balance.
Live-card verification pending: the site session and access requirements, real card amounts and comparison of site and client results are all unverified. Simulated balances, visible forms and offline startup checks cannot replace a real result.
