Months later, and the notice gives no reason
The US account worked when the card was added and when it was used. The disable came months later. The notice gave no reason. Support for the China storefront said they could not see this US account. What the thread keeps returning to is cards from outside the official store, a virtual address, and a region mismatch, without tying the disable to one reload.

If a sign-in failure says not activated, that phrase is about the Apple ID. It is not an empty gift card. An account that was shared, or an account that bought gift cards, can fail sign-in with a suspension message. That message is not the empty status from a gift card pre-query.
Found after a year and a half
Some people report two quiet years. Someone else said the case that was found was a charge from a year earlier, and the holder had disputed it. The question in the thread was whether a settlement window makes it safe. The replies said there is no such window. A card that later causes trouble can be found a year and a half after it was added.
The timing lined up, and it was lifted
After a Pockyt card, the account was disabled. The disable sat next to that reload, so the first reading was that the card was the problem. Support later made a status change, and the account was back a day later. The poster added that it was not a stolen card.
Order in time does not decide that the card was the problem. This page has no status-change steps and no unlock steps. A successful balance check does not include the account’s state months later. A region mismatch has its own message, on what to do when an Apple gift card’s region does not match.
The Apple gift card redeem succeeded. Why was the Apple account disabled months later?
A successful Apple gift card redeem only shows that the money entered the account at that time. A disable notice months later can give no reason, and it can sit next to one reload that later turns out not to have been the problem. A successful balance check does not include this.
Many cards, from many sources
One disable sat next to many gift cards, and the gift cards came from different places. The variable is the count and the source, not one gift card's balance that day.
After one redeem, other accounts would not open either
The December 2025 posts are one story: after the holder made one bad redeem, other accounts would not open either. The failure was not an empty gift card. This page keeps only that it happened, and it does not write what to do next.
The buyer believed the purchase was legitimate
The person believed the cards were legitimate. The account stayed permanently disabled, and content already bought was lost. The notice did not say whether the purchase counted as legitimate. This page has no appeal steps.
The thread has no redeem that also promises not to lock the account
Some posts look for a way to redeem a gift card into the account without locking the account. That discussion contains no such method. This page does not add one.
The lock is the account, or the phone
A gift card problem disables the account. A phone that will not open has a different cause: a device payment, or a pile of iCloud data. Do not fold the two sentences into one disable.
A cheap gift card travels with account risk
A gift card from a cheap channel brings account risk with it. Apple's own store has no such discount. This page names no shop and no rate.
