A Hulu gift card has no balance page
Hulu gift cards have no page you can open to read a balance. What remains shows up the next time the card is charged. A page that does not exist cannot be rewritten as a balance of $0.

With no balance page, there is no step of checking once and then deciding whether to reload. The next charge is when you see what is left. A reload on this kind of card has no figure you can read first.
Not one of the current brands
Hulu is not one of the brands in the client. This page does not add a check entry for it. Two other posts announce someone else's balance-tracking products. Those are product announcements, not the history of a particular card, and those products are not described here. A product announcement does not say what this card will have left at the next charge.
Before the charge, there is no page you can open. Someone else's tracking product does not create that page. What the next charge takes is what this card tells you is left. When that page does not exist, do not rewrite "cannot check" as $0, and do not rewrite it as not activated. Both of those need a result that was actually read. Hulu did not give that result. If the next charge fails, the failure is that charge. It is still not a balance figure.
